Flanders’ Food is the innovation platform for the Flemish agri-food industry. It was founded by Fevia Vlaanderen (federation of the food industry) and about 20 members. Its members consist of companies, research institutes, associations and federations. Flanders’ Food supports food companies in initiating, devising and implementing innovations in food products, production systems and new business concepts. Together with the right partners and research institutions, it supports the development of knowledge and financing.
In 2015, Food Tech Brainport joined forces with Flanders’s Food with the idea of making smarter use of vegetable by-products. Thanks to this project, dozens of entrepreneurs from the Netherlands and Flanders have collaborated intensively to combat food waste. This has resulted in several successful projects relating to the valorization of vegetable flows.
